SeaWorld Orlando announced yesterday that its Polynesian dining experience, the Makahiki Luau, will be “saying aloha” on September 30th, 2012. The experience has existed in some form at the park for 30 years, and it will be a shame to see it go.
We attended the Luau in 2011, and although the food was not noteworthy (we have been spoiled by Disney’s ‘Ohana), the dinner show was breathtaking. Pacific Islanders welcomed guests with dance, music, vibrant costumes and a thrilling fire dance (pictured above) that left the crowd cheering for more!
Reservations are now available for the Makahiki Luau’s final performances through September 30th, and can be made online or by calling 1-888-800-5447. SeaWorld admission is not required to attend the dining experience.
Mahalo for the fun memories, Makahiki Luau! You will be missed.
