Ice cream, anyone? Pat O’Briens at Universal Orlando Resort’s CityWalk offers one of our favorite frozen treats. The Pat O’s Beignet Sundae consists of a base vanilla ice cream, beignets (a fried pastry dessert) and chocolate sauce topped with whipped cream, and a cherry. Big enough to share, the dessert is the perfect end for a meal from the Irish heart of the French Quarter.

Hi Anon!
I’m not certain. Sadly, I’ve never enjoyed the BGW carrot cake. That being said, the recipe featured on Theme Park Foodie is the same recipe used at both SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. There may be a few subtle differences, but I definitely think the recipe will be similar and might be worth using.
Best of luck, and be sure to let me know how it goes if you decide to give it a try!
My latest column for Orlando Attractions Magazine is now live! This commentary calls for Disney to offer the Grey Stuff dessert on the menu of Be Our Guest. At this time, the dessert is only available at special request and may only be offered for special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries). Offering the dessert on the menu would be beneficial for guests AND for the park. Disney is losing out on an opportunity to make money here! After all, what Beauty and the Beast fan hasn’t dreamed of trying the Grey Stuff?
“Disney, how are you missing this wonderful opportunity to make money? Give us more Grey Stuff! We will buy it. Don’t believe us? Ask the dishes.”
Gourmet apples at Big Top Treats include Jack Skellington, Mike from Monsters Inc, Pumpkin Mickey and Cheshire Cat!

Orange Bird Returns to the Magic Kingdom

Did you hear? The Orange Bird is back at Walt Disney World! He has made his reappearance at the Sunshine Tree Terrace at the Magic Kingdom. Who is Orange Bird, you ask?
“Orange Bird was a character who was developed specifically for Magic Kingdom Park in the 1970s. This cheerful bird originally greeted families at Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland, where guests could also enjoy citrus drinks and buy Orange Bird gifts.” - Disney Parks Blog
Orange Bird’s return also means the revival of a former Magic Kingdom favorite, the citrus swirl! The citrus swirl is a frozen ice cream treat that features swirled vanilla ice cream and frozen orange juice. From what we’ve heard, it is similar in taste to the ever-popular Dreamsicle!
You can read more about the return of Orange Bird and the citrus swirl here.
